The best part about my evenings is grabbing the newly sprouted florals and brush from my backyard to create these little flat lays. Arranging these as the sunset fills my bedroom with bright orange is such a wonderful experience. It’s quiet, still, peaceful and just for me. I look forward to these moments of privacy with my work! Also, I wanted to thank all my brides for being such gems! You make what I do worth it. 💕
With the wedding just over a month away, it’s time to start diving in to the little details! Can’t wait to incorporate this pattern into something special for our guests! — This design contains a thistle (Scotland’s national emblem and Wes’s father’s homeland) and a California Poppy (my state flower). I’ve LOVED creating meaningful accents for our wedding, I’m going to miss it once it all over! Good thing I’m in the wedding business now so that I can apply this energy to my brides! 🌟

My friends at @oldforestfarm shot this outrageously beautiful flat lay for me. Just when I thought they couldn’t be more talented, they blew me away! Typical. I’m not even the least bit surprised that Monarchs found their way to my business card design. They’re my favorite creature AND so fascinating. I spent the evening finalizing my business card design for my wedding services. Sure, I may be up to my neck in my OWN wedding responsibilities, but does it look like that’s going to stop me? The answer is no.
I was going to shoot a fun introduction photo today, but the rain is pushing me in the direction of a throwback photo. Look, bangs! HELLO EVERYONE! The last few days, so many creative people decided to follow along with what I do. I feel like an introduction is in order! (And a warm welcome, of course.) My name is Kaitlyn DeSpain! I’m an illustrator, curator-in-training and a wedding stationary designer! Below are some fun facts about me, including a few shamelessly embarrassing facts too: 🌟I moved to Indianapolis from California almost three years ago. Time is flying, but I’ve made this city my home away from home. Since my move, I try to encourage as many people as I can to leave their nest and experience something new! 🌟My two guilty pleasures are chocolate cake and (of course) Britney Spears. 🌟I like pointed shoes and loose fitted clothing that often resembles “pirate attire”, or so my friends say. 🌟I am my best self when I am outdoors, in the sunshine, exploring a city! 🌟I once beat someone in a Pokémon card match with a Golbat vs. a legendary Pokémon.
